Aveling Training Centre

The design philosophy was to create a training and office administration building to facilitate up to 170 staff and students in the mining industry workforce. The design had to be cost-effective and highly functional, catering to Aveling’s requirements as an educational institution. The building comprises 15 training rooms, office administration areas, an extensive commercial kitchen, cafeteria and multi-purpose function area.

The resulting training centre is a functional and dynamic facility that not only accommodates it’s users but also provides a great deal of flexibility, encourages social interaction between students and pushes the boundaries of what’s considered conventional for an educational working environment. Notable features such as the strikingly bold linear and diagonal elements, the monochromatic colour palette and Aveling’s corporate identity all intertwine and act harmoniously within the surrounding environment.
