St George Building

The revitalisation of a nondescript building, easily lost along one of the main roads into Fremantle’s city centre. The strong symmetry of the existing facade was broken up by new openings designed to give the building a more inviting street presence and addressing the revised internal programme.

The cantilevered box balcony on the first floor marks the entry to the ground floor retail tenancy and the front office on the first floor. Materials and finishes were selected to contrast with the surrounding heritage precinct.
